England unable to seal victory even after getting close to target

All efforts of English team was denied when Pakistani bowlers were able to stop England right in their track. The match that took place in Dubai was the 1st T20 match from a series of 3 matches. With this victory, Pakistan leads the series 1-0.

England elected to field after winning their toss. Pakistan gave an average performance in their batting. Not many Pakistani player scored big runs and their scoreboard sealed at 144 runs.

England had fairly mediocre target but they were simply unable to get victory. Pakistani bowlers with their tight and disciplined bowling kept the English scoreboard at limit and England were 8 runs short from victory i.e. at 136 runs. Umar Gul and Hafeez should be credited for their bowling efforts.

Pakistan after being white-washed at 4-0 by England in ODI, should be relieved after this victory. 2nd T20 will be held at Dubai in Feb 25,2012
