New Zealand elected to bat first and scored 253 runs in their innings. McCullum and Williamson each contributed half century for the team but other batsman did not perform too well.
South Africa completed their chase by making 254 runs with 28 balls remaining and 6 wickets in hand. South Africa were troubled at the beginning of the innings as they lost openers very early but de Villiers rescued South Africa.
An unbeaten 106 runs contribution from AB de Villiers allowed South Africa to come on top of the home team and deliver victory. AB de Villiers was declared Player of the match for his marvelous performance. Duminy and Plessis well-supported AB de Villiers during the chase.
