Dhoni leads India to victory over Australia- Commonwealth Bank Series

Peter Forrest after his half-century

It was the second match between these two teams during this series and the match was no less spectacular and  full of ups and downs. Australia elected to bat first after winning the toss. The Australian team lost their openers very cheaply. They had very slow start but the debuting player Forrest made some effort to pace things up. He seemed very comfortable with bat and also scored a respectable 66 runs. Another important contribution was made by David Hussey. By the end of the 50 Overs, Australia scored 269/8. Indian bowlers did fair job at keeping the scores at limit. Especially Yadav and Zaheer were effective.

Gambhir- Player of the Match

With the target of 270, Indian team began their play. While Sehwag and Kohli fell easily, Gambhir tried his utmost best to chase the target. He did trouble Australian bowlers and accumulated some score before being out at 92.The remaining job was finished by Dhoni. He scored an unbeaten 44 to give India a 4 wickets victory. Though Australian bowlers slowed the pace of Indian score and also took some wickets, it was just not enough to seal their victory.
